Welcome to the Middle School Jumpstart Internship!

Day one of Jumpstart started with an introduction to Leadership Initiatives and the Middle School Jumpstart Internship. Following the students being checked into their rooms, interns were able to hear from Marshall Bailly and Marc Zavarro about Leadership Initiatives and our protocols.

Interns were able to hear from the Keynote Speaker, Britt Daniels. Mr. Daniels briefed students on how they are the future and can make a difference in the world regardless of their age and background. He encouraged students to step outside of their comfort zone and find what they are passionate about, to pursue the future.

The night continued with an introduction to the internship and weekly schedule by program director Marc Zavarro. Interns were divided into their business groups and were able to meet their teams. 

Following this presentation, interns were able to take a walking tour of the monuments including the Lincoln Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the World War II Memorial, and the Washington Monument. Interns took photos throughout the tour to get to know their team and remember the event. Interns then headed back to the dorms and to bed. They all prepared for the long, fun-filled day ahead.
