Welcome to the International Leadership & Business Internship!

As students traveled from all areas of the United States and around the world to Georgetown University, the air was filled with anticipation, excitement, and admiration. Their first day at the International Leadership & Business Internship was a testament to their drive and determination, setting the stage for what promises to be a transformative experience. Eager to leave their mark on the global stage, these young minds are poised to make a meaningful impact.

This program is dedicated to honing leadership skills and fostering economic growth in developing countries. Participants immerse themselves in a hands-on business environment, gaining invaluable insights and practical experience.

Once settled, students received an overview of the upcoming week, filled with opportunities. They will collaborate closely with entrepreneurs, professionals, and industry leaders from both Nigeria and the United States. This initiative not only dives into business operations and leadership strategies but also embraces cultural dynamics, aiming to bring positive change to local communities.

Amid unpacking and settling into their dorms, students had the chance to connect with roommates and forge new friendships and connections. The day culminated in an inspiring keynote address from Umar Muhammad, Leadership Initiatives' Country Director, setting the tone for the week ahead. Program Director Marc Zavarro then outlined the schedule, business assignments, and introduced personal executive mentors, fueling the interns' enthusiasm to embark on this transformative journey.

Following the keynote, students explored Washington D.C.'s iconic National Mall, soaking in the history and significance of landmarks like the Roosevelt Memorial and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

After the monument tour, they returned to campus, ready to unwind and recharge. Guided tours of Georgetown continued, offering glimpses into local favorites like Insomnia Cookie, Häagen-Dazs, CVS, and Taichi Bubble Tea, enhancing their immersion into campus life.

This promising start reflects their shared commitment to learning, growth, and making a positive impact on a global scale.
