Welcome to Interning with Leadership Initiatives

Amidst the interns unpacking and settling into their dorms, the interns had the chance to connect with their roommates and fellow interns, forging new friendships and connections. After listening to the inspiring keynote speeches from Marshall Bailly and Gina Bennett, the interns enjoyed a delicious dinner that energized them for the adventures to come.

The first stop was the iconic Monument Tour, where they immersed themselves in the solemn history of the World War II memorial. Each intern had the opportunity to find the state they reside in and take a photo next to it.

Amidst unpacking and settling into their dorms, students had the chance to connect with roommates and forge new friendships and connections. Walking by the reflecting pool, where the interns engaged in good conversation and felt a profound sense of gratitude, contemplating the sacrifices those made for our freedoms. The Lincoln Memorial, with the statue of President Abraham Lincoln, left the interns in awe of his enduring legacy.

Following the moving experience that the interns endured, they ventured into Georgetown to explore the area. Their visit included a stop at CVS, where they had the chance to pick up essentials and interact with those in the community.

As the day drew to a close, the interns took some much-needed downtime to reflect on the day’s events and prepare the week ahead.
