On Wednesday, interns of the International Leadership and Business Internship took on their last embassy visit of the program: the Embassy of Poland. Interns were able to dive into Polish culture and diplomacy, providing them with a unique opportunity to understand the importance of cultural diplomacy in bridging nations.

The embassy visit began with a welcome from the staff and an introduction by the Ambassador of Poland, Mark Brzezinski who provided interns with an intriguing overview of Poland and its role in international diplomacy. He also shared insights into Poland’s strong alliances and membership in the European Union. He highlighted Poland’s journey from the Solidarity movement, emphasizing how the country is now dedicated to democracy, freedom, and human rights.

Following the introduction, interns were presented with a few of Poland’s cultural contributions, highlighting some of the symbolic art and traditions of Poland. Polish ambassador Mark Brzezinski proudly showed some goral art, pisanki, and elaborate nativity scenes, displaying the rich cultural heritage that the nation is rooted upon.

As the visit to the Polish Embassy concluded, interns were left with a day filled with learning and inspiration, reminding them of the vital role that cultural differences play in global affairs that all contribute to a more connected world.
