Navigating Global Strategies

Our third day at the International Leadership & Business Internship overflowed with enriching experiences that deepened our understanding of global business practices and strategies. The morning began with dynamic business partner calls, where the interns engaged in insightful discussions and benefited from Dr. Wendy Riemann’s expertise. She is a Communication Instructor and Advisor at George Washington’s University. Her session on public speaking was eye-opening for the interns. She emphasized the importance of storytelling in engaging an audience, making complex ideas understandable, and inspiring action. They practiced techniques through interaction exercises, gaining confidence and improving their ability to communicate effectively in professional settings.

Following the public speaking workshop, Richard America, the former Senior Policy Advisor for the US Small Business Administration, led a comprehensive discussion on International Investments. He navigated us through the complexities of global markets and investment strategies. Richard’s insight into risk management, portfolio diversification, and emerging market opportunities were invaluable. His session empowered the interns to make informed financial decisions when creating their Business Proposals.

The interns exploration of business strategies continued with a presentation on branding by Professor Easwar, Director of the Business Scholars Program at Georgetown University. Professor Easwar delved into the art of branding, exploring how businesses craft and maintain their market identities. He discussed the importance of consistency, brand storytelling, and the emotional connection brands can establish with their customers.

The day continued with dynamic Marketing and Infrastructure Workshops, led by Professor Easwar and Dania Merzi, the Team Lead at CVENT for Sales Compensation. These hands-on sessions equipped the interns with practical tools to enhance their project development and implementation capabilities. They honed their skills in devising effective marketing strategies and infrastructure plans.
