Cultural Diplomacy in Business

The third day of the internship went beyond the classroom and into international relations with enlightening cultural tours to the embassies of Mali, Mongolia, and Rwanda. These visits broadened their perspectives on global diplomacy and trade opportunities, revealing the intersection of diplomacy and business on a global scale.


Those that visited the Embassy of Mali, were warmly welcomed and introduced to the rich cultural heritage and economic potential of the West African nation. The embassy representations provided the interns with insights into Mali’s key industries, such as agriculture, mining, and tourism. They learned about the country’s trade relations and investment opportunities. 


Those that visited the Embassy of Mongolia, were fascinated by the nation’s unique blend of tradition and modernity. The embassy officials highlighted Mongolia's strategic location between Russia and China, making it a pivotal player in regional trade. They discussed Mongolia’s ambitions to diversify its economy and attract foreign investment. 



Those that visited the Embassy of Rwanda offered valuable lessons in innovation and development. The embassy representatives shared insights into Rwanda’s vision for becoming a knowledge based economy, with significant investments in technology, education, and infrastructure. This visit highlighted the role of visionary leadership and strategic planning in achieving sustainable economic growth.



These embassy visits enriched the interns' understanding of the intricate connections between diplomacy, culture, and business. By exploring the embassies of Mali, Mongolia, and Rwanda, they have expanded their knowledge on international trade opportunities but also allowed them to appreciate the diverse cultural contexts that shape global business dynamics. The experiences from the day underscored the importance of cultural awareness and diplomacy in the world of business, preparing the interns to finish their business proposals.
